| not sure, he was 2nd match on ct2, with a 12pm start on the ct, but goodall v llodra has been slotted in before him, and that match is currently tied at a set a piece. should be live video of it through the bbc website though. |

Do you know, I just saw a small bit of a press conference with Alex & James Ward (congratulations to them on their doubles victory) & I realised that this is the first time since I first saw Alex, in 2003, that I've heard him speak! Wish I had before - he's got a lovely voice.
I think all the stuff in the papers today was horrible. There wasn't anything much in the paper I get, just that they'd all been knocked out bar the 2 Scots (which is what you'd expect in Glasgow, I guess!). But the media comments that were mentioned on the BBC coverage today, particularly about Alex & this stupid record thing, horrified me. They made it sound like all British players bar Andy Murray are utter rubbish, which is so far from the truth. Alex played really well yesterday against Berdych, who would be tough for many higher-ranked players, & Josh was incredible. I don't really know much about the women's game, but I've heard great things said about them, esp Anne Keothavong.
Now I don't know enough about the LTA & what they do for their players etc to give an opinion, but I do wish the media would give it a rest & let the LTA make decisions on their own. Slagging them & the players off isn't going to do anyone any good.
Anyway, I enjoyed Alex' match, & even if he (or any of the others) don't get wild cards from now on, I'm sure they're talented enough to qualify. I really hope so - I've made a point of watching Alex each year since 2003 as I really like watching him play. Plus, now I have no-one to go to live tennis with anymore, I'm unlikely to get to another Davis Cup, so Wimbledon's probably my only real chance to see them from now on.
Btw my mum came into my room just as the 3rd set of Alex's match was beginning, &, getting quite excited, I shouted, "Come on, Alex! If you win this set, I'll go out with you!" (It's how I react sometimes when watching a match at home alone, lol.) So when it was all over, she said, "Either you horrified him or distracted him too much." Anyway, for now, good luck to him & James in the doubles.
(Oh yeah, & Alex, the offer's open any time... )
