Shrewsbury,GB $25,000 + H5th seed against qualifier. Great news with Brad, but has had the use of Brad if needed this year already.Hope it will spur a new chapter and fitness vastly improves, and fixture organisation. Points collection has to come first. This week:- 0,5,12,22,35 and 50 for the winner.

this could be a tough week for Alex, he is due to meet Zevrev in the quarters (who is on fire beating canas and tursunov last week!) and is also defending 50 points from his win here last year. He has had so little match practice coming into this week thats it goign to be real tough, even if he is back at 100%.
hopefully his work will go well over the xmas break with brad (they have a training session in flordia line dup at the start of Dec) and he can atart the year well.

Karol Beck is the qualifier.

Alex gets a great 64 64 win over beck (former top 40, just back from a long suspension) and is also boosted by the fact that zverev and haase are both out!

Another painful defeat! Surely Boggo should rest up now till Florida? He can't be 100%

Exactly 190. Down 29. Only good news is that not too many points to defend next year. 109 in April might be concerning but otherwise must maybe avoid some of the big tournaments now in terms of qualifying for them and concentrate on the bread and butter: the 25, 50K ones. Must sit down and evaluate what he wants to achieve each month for next year, and easy goals!!

a little bit of info, alex still wasnt fully fit, he couldn't serve at 100% which meant no cheap serve points so makes life hard.

Thanx, but if not fit,was it worth playing, and what % level is his fitness, and what stage next year will his fitness be 100%.What does Boggo need to work on fitness wise.

i think he had to play as he was defending champion and it was the last event of the year. the injury is a strange one as he can still hit his ground strokes at full force so there is a slim chance he could win (at least he won 1 match) its just his serve that is affected (and i assume overehards too) its sort of just under his shoulder/high ribs.
hopefully he will be back to full strength soon, i assume he will be able to work his training around it for the time being.
you are right next year he has only a few points to defend now cept for that large chunk in April, he will lose a bit of time near the start of the year with the DC and preparation. would be nice if he can pick some points up right at the start of the year, he rarely does well in the Oz events.

Thanx for the full info. Any early news about possible events in Jan/Feb?

lol he did mention something to me but i forgot
i dont know if he will try and atp qualies or 1st week challenger before the Oz qualies. after that it will be training for the DC tie, which will most likley include attempting to qualify for vin del mar atp. there is also a chellenegr in chille same week as the 1st week of the AO. i woner if they will go there if they fail to qualify.
Once he gets that out the way i would suspect he will play the indoor european challengers as i doubt his ranking will be high enough for the atps he tried last year, i guess he will work a scheudle out with BG over the break.
