Great win in 2nd round. The Sweed was a qualifier, but this sets a rematch with Reynolds.Although down at 202,fast improving, so Alex will need to be on top form again.

Great, great win 7-5,7-6 (0), and progresses to semi final,so far claiming 24 points and $2510.To reach final and claim 38pts and $4240,Al needs to beat Levy, currently 287 in the world, who reached a high of 30 on 25th June 2001.They have not played each other before at ATP level.Should be interesting!!

Fantastic win over Levy and Fleishman to collect the 55 points.A very welcome return to form as it has been tough over the past five months.

Rd2: A Bogdanovic bt B Rehnquist 6-7, 6-3, 6-2

Alex secured his place in the quarte finals with a 3 sets win over Rehnquist who is ranked 412, but he's a lot better than that, he was in the top 150 back in 2002. Earlier this year he reached the quarters of the Wolfsburg challenger, beating Josh Goodall in 3 sets along the way.

Before the match, Boggo said: "It's a pretty though match as Rehnquist moves well and makes a lot of balls. I played pretty solid in my rd1 win so hopefully I can do the same today."

Alex will now face a rematch against Bobby Reynolds, who came out a straight sets victor when they met last week in Tallahassee.

QF: A Bogdanovic bt B Reynolds 7-5, 7-6

Alex is through to the semis of the Valencia 50K challenger, defeating American Bobby Reynolds 7-5, 7-6(0) last night.

It's Alex's first challenger semi-final on outdoor hard since Graz in 2004 and his first in the USA since 2003.

He now faces veteran Israeli qualifier Harel Levy tonight for a final berth. They've never played before, Levy is currently ranked 287 - 140 places below Alex. However, he's been as high as no 30 ! Levy has mainly been competing on the futures tour this year, winning a title in Israel and going by that Alex should have too much class for him. However, Levy has been in a fine streak of form here, defeating hard-hitting 6th seed Sam Warburg in rd2 and big-serving serve-volleyer Rajeev Ram in the quarters. On his day, he can be very dangerous as rising US teenager Sam Querrey found to his cost last autumn.

Final: A Bogdanovic bt Z Fleishman 6-4, 6-7, 6-3

Alex beat local favourite Zack Fleishman in a hard- fought match to win the Valencia Challenger title 6-4 6-7(3) 6-3. Fleishman is an accomplished player on the US hard courts, and played some of his best tennis on Sunday. "Boggo" however showed his class to win his first Challenger title on outdoor hard courts.

Alex shoots up the rankings as a result of this victory, rising 15 places to World 132.

Bogdanovic was watched this week by the LTA's head coach, Paul Annacone, and had to battle extremely difficult conditions to win through. Today was no exception, with cold temperatures and blustery winds meaning that Alex had to demonstrate his new- found mastery of outdoor hard- court tennis.

speaking to www.radiotennis.com after the presentations, Bogdanovic said that getting a win in an outdoor challenger was a big step forward for him.As there are not many outdoor hard challengers in Britain, he doesn't get much chance over here. He said that the match could have gone either way but that he fought hard. It was great that Annacone had come to watch in these conditions, and that English players are very lucky to have these top coaches. Annacone lives an hour away from the venue. They were having chats all week, they weren't really talking strategy. He felt it helped having a coach giving advice in how to play in such tough conditions.
