Hello!
I just watched Alex destroy Li at Queen's. He totally deserves to be in the Davis Cup team against Croatia after that performance! He was amazing, and I really hope I get to see him in September!

| Good day for British tennis, not only with Al's win but the two Jamie's as well. Alex played with aggression this time which was great to see,and some aces. Still quite a few unforced errors, and no appeals!! Great win overall but must now beat Jamie.Last week Al had a good 1st win but them lost to Bloomers. The same musn't happen again. |

I was lucky enough to have court side seats for Alex's match and it was generally a very impressive performance. Kept it together when he needed it, played well on the big points too. Perhaps he needs to get more aggresive with his 2nd serve, but one thing at a time i guess. As he said afterwards his coach has been working with him to make sure he only focuses on the point at hand, not the past and not the future, indeed several times Lundgrun shouted out '1 point at a time' to Alex. (that doesnt count as coaching tho )
I was a little disappointed Alex didnt challege any of the numerous dodgy calls he recieved (and who knows what the umprie was doing making him replay the service point in the game when he eventualy got broken - maybe trying to porve there was no favouritism? but the fact Lee had gone to the other side to recieve shows he felt it was good), but on reflection i am not overly suprised that Alex didnt challenge, same as i have never really seen him argue a call. Maybe with a bit more big match/challenge experience he could have used it, but i think he was just focused on getting on with the game. The challenge adds a bit of delay, interrupts his rythm etc he was 'on song' no need to mess around with it. |

| Good doubles win, only two doubles events played so far, hence 634 rank.Great to play with Marat,I'm sure.Hope Al wins today increasing his points from 10 to 20 and prize money 5670e to 9650 and a place against Roddick. I also hope Al gets a wildcard into Nottingham. There appears to be only 3 available and Tim will get one. |

wow, impressive from boggo to tough it out today. in some ways more impressive than if he had come out there and blown Baker of the court, lets hope he can keep on like that all matches not just on english grass.
i have to admit i didnt fully belive he could turn it around so was very happy he did. learning to win when his a-game isnt firing is a very important ability.
now he can go out and enjoy himself v a-rod tomorrow. no pressue. just go and hit the ball well. |

| Alex gave a very good account of himself.Earlier in the week,Brad Gilbert says that Al can reach 60.Fortunately Al has been granted a wild card into Nottingham but needs to do it all over again, week in week out.At a guess Al may go up from 117 to 109ish. Hope Al can spring a doubles win today with Safin. The aces is a plus this week.As of 11th June, only 8.Rafa has 131,A Rod 310,Federer 221. So Al has to get that figure upwards quickly. |
